The unique traditions, culture and heritage of the Marshallese Islands were feted Thursday during the first-ever Kona Marshallese Constitution Day held at Kealakehe High School.

Scores of people from around the Big Island came together to celebrate the May 1, 1979, signing of the constitution establishing the self-governing country during the free event.

Attendees also had an opportunity to meet first-hand with an array of agencies and service providers.
