HONOLULU — Honolulu police reported an officer was critically injured after his SUV was rear-ended by an alleged drunk driver in Makaha.

Officials said the driver of another SUV was driving on Farrington Highway when he hit the officer’s SUV and struck another vehicle late Friday night.

Police said the collision sent the officer’s SUV through a brick wall of a home along the highway. The male officer remained in critical condition Saturday.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports the driver, a female passenger and a 4-year-old boy sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver of the white SUV, a 33-year-old Makaha man, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
