Hours at four Hawaii County HI-5 certified redemption centers will change effective July 15. The change is the result of Department of Health funding cutbacks, county Department of Environmental Management officials said Monday.

Hours at the Kealakehe Transfer Station will be reduced to 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In Keauhou, the redemption center will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Waimea hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. The Hilo site’s hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

All sites are closed from 1 to 1:30 p.m. for lunch.

Certified redemption center hours at all other recycling and transfer stations will remain the same.
