Big Island police are investigating the discovery of a body Saturday afternoon behind the Kailua-Kona U.S. Post Office in North Kona.

The body, believed to be an adult man, was found around 5:30 p.m., said Hawaii Police Department Lt. Jeremie Evangelista. It was located in tall grass on the mauka side of the post office, which is situated on the southern corner of the Queen Kaahumanu Highway and Palani Road intersection.

A coroner’s inquest investigation has been initiated. At this time, foul play is not suspected, Evangelista said.
