Seiyu Toguchi

Seiyu Toguchi, 89, of Pepeekeo died Nov. 19 at a private care home. Born in Pepeekeo, he was a retired welder for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and a member of the Honomu Hongwanji Mission and Hui Okinawa.

Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 29 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10:30 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Yoshino Toguchi of Pepeekeo; daughters, Karen (Norman) Irie of Pepeekeo, Alice Toguchi-Matsuo, Elaine (Kevin) Chun and Sharon (Jeffrey) Yamasaki, all of Mililani, Oahu; son, John (Lisa) Toguchi of Kaneohe, Oahu; sister, Gladys Gushiken of Hilo; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; nieces and nephews.

Roselin Ferreira

Roselin “Roz” “Nana” Ferreira, 98, of Hilo died Nov. 21, 2013, at home. Born Oct. 20, 1915, in Haiku, Maui, she was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Dec. 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

She is survived by daughters, Rosalind Lopez of Hilo, Virginia (August) Pacheco of Honolulu, Celine (John) Dickson of Paducah, Ky., Dorothea Ferreira and Barbara Ferreira, both of Las Vegas; sons, Alfred (Judy) Ferreira of Clermont, Fla., William (Malia) Ferreira of Waimea, James (Patricia) Ferreira of Hilo; sisters, Sister Dorothy Santos of Honolulu, Cecilia Santos of Santiago, Chile; brother, Rex Santos of Makawao, Maui; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

William Zuke

William Franklin Zuke, 70, of Waimea died Nov, 13, 2013. Born Jan. 4, 1943, in Fresno, Calif., he was a photographer and artist, Navy veteran and member of the Kona Camera Club.

Memorial services with military honors are planned for 10 a.m. Dec. 2 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery.

He is survived by wife, Dodie Zuke of Waimea; daughters, Alia (Elton) Cabrera-Zuke of Waikoloa, Aimee Zuke of Kapaa, Kauai; sister, Nancy (Brad) Svoboda of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; two grandchildren; two nieces.

Paula Milbrat

Paula Sue Milbrat, 64, of St. Michael, Minn.,, died Nov. 19, 2013, at her home. Born June 3, 1949, in San Diego, she was a day care provider.

Elizabeth Sayno Toribio, 82, of Papaikou died Nov. 18, 2013, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born Aug. 10, 1931, in Hilo, she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Dec. 4 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10:30 a.m. service. Burial will take place at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

Martha Zacho

Martha Bertha Lauae Zacho, 92, of Waikoloa died Nov. 21, 2013, at her residence. Born March 27, 1921, in Honolulu, she was an interpreter for National Hawaiian History an Hawaii Parks at Puukohola Heiau National Historic Park, owner of and lei maker for Lauae Floral Creations, a seasonal lei maker for Four Seasons Resort, Hualalai and member of Imiola Congregational Church, Ahahui Kaahumanu Waimea, Hawaiian Civic Club Waimea and Daughters of Hawaii.

Carissa Brokaw

Carissa Jane Brokaw, 43, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 17, 2013, at her home. Born Sept. 18, 1970, in Stamford, Conn., she was a former nanny.

Yvonne Hull

Yvonne Louise Hull, 83, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 22, 2013, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Nov. 28, 1929, in Tucumcari, N.M., she was a real estate agent.

No services will be held.

She is survived by hanai sons, Paul Hansen and Brandon Connor,both of Kailua-Kona; hanai daughter, Donna (Tom) Butler of Pahala.

Sueko Kori

Sueko Kori, 87, of Hilo died Nov. 12, 2013, at her residence. Born Aug. 25, 1926, in Kapehu, she was retired from the former Hawaii Queen of Hearts Co. as a flower packer and member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.

Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.

She is survived by husband, Tsukasa Kori of Hilo; daughters, Thelma (Arthur) Nekoba of Reno, Nev., Janet (Clyde) Oshiro and Arlene (Roy) Shigehara, both of Hilo; sister, Hidemi Nakamoto of Honolulu; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.

Earl Miyagi

Earl “Pepe” Mitsuo Miyagi, 82, of Hilo died Nov. 5, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 7, 1931, in Pepeekeo, he was retired from Central Pacific Bank in Hilo as assistant senior vice president and member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Hui Okinawa.

He is survived by wife, Tsuruye Miyagi of Hilo; son, Jeffery (Michelle) Miyagi of Hilo; daughters, Laura (Jack) Mitchell of Longview, Texas, Suzanne (Jeff) Naval of Las Vegas, Joni (Ian) Nagao of Hilo; sister, Kay (Paul) Bossert of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Masayuki Ishii

Masayuki Ishii, 87, of Honomu died Nov. 7, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born April 10, 1926, in Pepeekeo, he was retired from the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. as a heavy equipment mechanic and member of the Honomu Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and ILWU Bowling League.

Private services were held. Family requests no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Yoriko Ishii of Honomu; sons, Brian (Lynn) Ishii of Kailua, Oahu, Gordon (Pandora) Ishii of Las Vegas; daughter, Roxanne (Reid) Yamamoto of Mililani Mauka, Oahu; four grandchildren; numerous nieces.

Hawaiian Kimeona Tyson Mamone, infant, of Hilo died Nov. 15, 2013, at the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children. He was born Nov. 5, 2013, in Honolulu.

Shigeru Miyashiro

Shigeru Miyashiro, 77, of Captain Cook died Nov. 13, 2013, at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born March 30, 1936, in North Kohala, he retired as a custodian and bus driver for Konawaena schools and was an Air Force veteran.

Private services were held.

He is survived by wife, Tszemei Miyashiro of Captain Cook; sons, Bobby (Regina) Miyashiro of Captain Cook, Dennis (Robyn DeCambra) Miyashiro of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Joyce (William Lee) Miyashiro of Captain Cook; brother, Tsugio Miyashiro of Captain Cook; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

John Romanak

John Phillip Romanak, 63, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 21, 2013, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Dec. 4, 1949, in North Kingstown, R.I., he was the owner of a window cleaning service.
