Mayor should veto Bill 113

It seems that a certain segment of our population here on Hawaii Island has been struck by the “Chicken Little Syndrome.”

Chicken Little, having been struck on the head by a little acorn, proceeded to raise mass hysteria among her friends by saying that the sky was falling and that she had seen it with her own eyes. She led her friends on a wild chase to tell the king, never once thinking to look up at the sky, nor to look down to locate the offending piece of sky.

A simple children’s fable, true enough, but it illustrates the paranoia exhibited by Goosey Loosey, Henny Penny, Cocky Lockey, Ducky Lucky, Drakey Lakey, Turkey Lurkey and Gander Lander types who lack independent thought and are led to a questionable end by Foxy Woxy.

In a “nutshell,” this is why you need to veto Bill 113.

Hawaii has power to stop Obama

How many of you realize the power we in Hawaii have today?

If you have been paying any attention for the five years you know America is not on the right path today. Do you realize that Hawaii has the ability to stop Obama’s destructive agenda in its tracks?

Obamacare is a failure. Obama is a proven liar. These are facts. There is much more that could be said but I would be wasting my breath here because so many have voted for Obama “because he’s from Hawaii.” Way too many people think that gives him some special ability, we know that is not a fact. What we do know is that we have two senators we hired to work for us — not Obama.

Wake up. Hawaii. Write, text, call or email your senators and tell them you are tired of them being Obama’s bobbleheads. Even our worst senator will get the hint.

The “Nuclear Option” — destroying the rules our founders put forth should be the last straw. The future could be in our hands.

Embezzled funds could have been protected

My heart (and donation) go out to the officials, coaches, parents, supporters and especially the kids involved with Pop Warner Football and the Panaewa Alii team who have spent years raising funds in hopes of sending the team to the Pop Warner Super Bowl in Florida. Their dreams were shattered when it was disclosed that all the money they had accumulated was embezzled by an individual in charge of the bank account.

While it may be too late to be of benefit to these kids, there is insurance coverage available at a somewhat nominal cost that can replace embezzled funds. It is called, “fidelity insurance.” Unfortunately, embezzlement by trusted friends, employees and even family members, occurs more often than people realize and I would encourage all organizations and businesses to speak with their insurance agent to determine if this coverage is appropriate for their operation.

The emotional scars resulting from the betrayal of a trusted friend or family member can last a lifetime but generally the money can be replaced rather quickly.
