Hawaiian, China airlines announce reciprocal frequent flier partnership
Hawaiian Airlines and China Airlines announced that members of both frequent flier programs are able to earn or redeem miles on either carrier for system-wide travel beginning Dec. 15. The airlines’ bilateral code share flights, now on sale, allow for seamless booking and check-in on a single ticket for travel between North America, Hawaii and multiple destinations throughout Asia.
In addition to the code share agreement, the airlines also completed an interline agreement that allows for seamless travel to additional destinations in Asia such as Okinawa, Japan; Manila, Phillipines; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietman; Hong Kong, and Jakarta, Indonesia. Through the arrangement, travelers can book single-ticket travel combining flights on both carriers and also enjoy one-stop check-in with bags checked through customers’ final destinations.
To start earning HawaiianMiles on China Airlines, members must provide their HawaiianMiles number when booking a flight or at check-in. To redeem HawaiianMiles for flights on China Airlines, travelers can call Hawaiian’s reservations center at (800)367-5320. New members can enroll at Hawaiianairlines.com.

Hinds promoted to vice president
Christy Hinds has been promoted to vice president, overseeing the island of Hawaii’s operations for Associa Hawaii. She will work alongside Kathy Cooley, senior vice president of Hawaii operations, to deliver community management and lifestyle services to more than 65 clients.
Hinds previously assisted a team of new account executives and managed a portfolio of properties as team leader for Associa Hawaii. She holds a degree in business administration, the Certified Manager of Community Associations designation and the Association Management Specialist designation. Her next career goal is to earn the designation of Professional Community Association Manager.
Young Brothers grants benefit island nonprofits
Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii recently purchased a portable miniature horse corral through a generous grant from Young Brothers Ltd. The company gave over $50,000 to Hawaii Island nonprofits.
Therapeutic Horsemanship of Hawaii’s three miniature horses make visits to special education classes, senior centers and day programs for the developmentally disabled. Their visits bring joy and learning opportunities. The organization also offers a mounted therapeutic riding program that is serving almost 50 individuals with special needs.

VASH Hawaii receives grant
Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii, Hawaii Island recently received a $1,000 grant from Young Brothers/Hawaiian Tug and Barge. Glenn Hong, President of Young Brothers presented the check to the organization’s incoming Hawaii Island president, Rachelle Hennings-Newman.
