Boyson Kaimilani Brown Sr., 69, of Hilo is survived by a sister, Bunnette (Stanley) Yorong of Hilo. The survivor’s name was incorrect because of information supplied to West Hawaii Today.

Mary Wong

Mary Ellen Wong, 73, of Volcano died Nov. 25, 2013, in Honokaa. Born Dec. 18, 1939, in Ookala, she was a cattle rancher and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa and the Cattlemen’s Association.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. Dec. 12 at Dodo Mortuary in Hilo for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may call again at 7 to 8:30 a.m. Dec. 13 at the mortuary. Burial follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 1. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Kevin (Claudine Mendes) McIver of Honokaa, Clay McIver of California; hanai son, Steven (Piilani) Royston of Hilo; brother, Waltham (Bernadette) Johansen of Paauilo; hanai grandchildren, Kaneala Hiilei and Kaulana Hiilei, both of Honokaa; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; one aunt; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cary Barreto

Cary Miles Barreto, 57, of Paauilo died Dec. 8, 2013, in Honolulu. Born Nov. 13, 1956, in Long Beach, Calif., he was an airport fire equipment operator at Kona International Airport.

Friends may call at 1 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Kona Airport fire station for a service.

He is survived by sisters, Julie Barreto and Ramona Cutri.

Napoleon Haena

Napoleon “Nappy” Kealoha Haena, 76, of Keaau died Nov. 24, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 5, 1937, in Hilo, he was a retired carpenter and an Army veteran.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Dec. 13 at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 840 Kupulau Road in Hilo, for an 11 a.m. service. A private urn burial will be held later. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by daughter, Fay (Sheldon) Karratti of Hilo; sister, Rosemarylee (Sam) Dwight of Carson City, Calif.; hanai brothers, Harry (Anna) Kenoi of Chatsworth, Calif., Dennis (Denise) Kenoi and Joseph Kenoi, both of Hilo; hanai sister, Delight Aala Veincent of Hilo; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Veronica Ibera, 82, of Keaau died Dec. 2, 2013, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Jan. 2, 1931, in Olaa, she was a homemaker.

Geraldine “Aunty Gerry” Kuuiini Johansen, 71, of Pearl City, Oahu, died Nov. 23, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hawi, she was a retired alumni director of Kamehameha Schools Kapalama.

Friends may call at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Bishop Memorial Chapel of Kamehameha Schools on Oahu for a 3 p.m. service. Family requests no flowers.

She is survived by husband, Albert Johansen of Pearl City, Oahu; daughters, Michelle Johansen of Pearl City, Oahu, Tanya Johansen of Culver City, Calif.; brothers, Allen Vinta of Mililani, Oahu, Gregory Vinta of Kohala; sisters, Pauline Requelman of Kona, Henrietta Labisores of Waikele, Oahu, Ginger Vinta of Las Vegas; two grandchildren.

Freddie Kaholoaa

Freddie “Dago” Ennith Kaholoaa, 68, of Mountain View died Nov. 24, 2013, at Pohai Malama. Born Dec. 7, 1944, in Waipio Valley, he was a plasterer, a member of the Mason &Plasterers Union Local 630, the proprietor of Kaholoaa’s Hale, and a Vietnam War Army veteran.
