Blue Sea Artisans Gallery will feature sand art fine crafter Pamela Geary in January.

Craving for a way to artistically express herself after moving to Kailua-Kona in 2009, Geary took an art class with Teresea Boswell, who became her mentor and coach in creating sand art objects. Inspired by the beauty of Hawaii’s beaches and the Pacific Ocean, Geary’s creations are a collection of sand, shells, beach glass and recycled glass that take shape in the form of candle holders, bathroom accessories, picture frames and more.

The Blue Sea Artisans will host a featured artist’s reception from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 11 at its gallery at Kona International Market. For more information, call the gallery at 329-8000. The Gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
