Joe Joseph Frank Lorenzo Jr., 75, of Hilo died Dec. 28, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 14, 1938, in Pahala, he was a bookkeeper for J.J. Bookkeeper Services, a clerk for the Department of Human Services, school crossing guard at Waiakeawaena School in Hilo, and Army veteran and member of Hawaii Government Employees Association.

Pamela Darlene Leinaala Kapoi Young, 65, of Waimea died Dec. 27, 2013. Born Jan. 9, 1948, on Oahu, she was a manager at Cattleman’s Steakhouse in Waimea and a longtime cook and baker, most recently at the Hilton Waikoloa Village.

Born Sept. 5, 1922, in Holualoa, she was a land developer with Kona Scenic Land, a farmer, member of Daifukuji Soto Mission, honorary member of the Kona Rotary Club, University of Extension Club and a former 4-H leader.
