Codependent men’s group meets Tuesday

A Co-dependents Anonymous men’s meeting is held from 6 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday at Access Capabilities, 74-5583 Pawai Place, Suite B125. The 12-step fellowship is for those whose common purpose is recovery from codependence and the development and maintenance of healthy relationships. The nonprofit organization is supported by the voluntary contributions of attending members.

County seeks outstanding older Americans

“Safe today. Healthy tomorrow” is the national theme for Older Americans Month. Hawaii County Office of Aging would like to honor outstanding older Americans of Hawaii County. Nominations are being accepted until March 7.

The annual Outstanding Older Americans Awards luncheon will be held May 2.

Call the Hawaii County Office of Aging at 961-8600 to obtain nomination applications.

Update on St. Michael’s Church building slated

The Rev. Konalio Faletoi, St. Michael’s Church pastor, will speak to the Rotary Club of Kona Sunrise at its weekly breakfast meeting Wednesday. He will discuss the rebuilding progress of the church with a slide presentation.

The Rotary Club of Kona Sunrise holds meetings weekly at 6:45 a.m. every Wednesday at Hale Halawai in Kailua-Kona. Breakfast is $10. Call Laura Guluzzy for more information at 326-2100.

Pride of America visits Wednesday

The Pride of America is scheduled to visit Kailua Bay Wednesday, according to the state Department of Land and Natural Resources’ Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation.

Kona Shriners meeting for lunch

The Kona Shriners will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at The Fish Hopper restaurant in Kailua-Kona. Visiting Shriners are welcome.

Pro-life gathering planned Wednesday

Stand for Life, an annual prayer gathering marking the 41st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, is planned from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday on the makai side of Queen Kaahumanu Highway between Palani Road and Henry Street in Kailua-Kona.

Roe v. Wade is the landmark Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion.

Signs featuring pro-life messages will be provided. Participants may also bring their own signs. The public is invited to participate.

Medical coders hold first meeting

The Hilo Hawaii Island chapter of the American Academy of Professional Coders will hold its first meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday at Tex’s Drive Inn in Honokaa. Essie White will present an overview of important CPT and guideline changes for 2014.
