Peter Keka, 73, of Kailua-Kona is also survived by a stepson, Duane (Cynthia) Medeiros; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one great-great grandchild. The information was inadvertently left out by the mortuary in an obituary published in the Jan. 16 edition.

Stephen Miller

Stephen “Steve” J. Miller, 69, of Hilo died Jan. 7, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Sept. 7, 1944, in Meridian, Miss., he was a retired police sergeant for the Hawaii County Police Department.

Friends may call at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 22 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for an 11:30 a.m. service. Cremation follows. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Elizabeth Miller of Hilo; sons, Gilbert Manikis of Hilo, Glen (Charlene) Manikis of Oregon; daughters, Patty (Patrick) De Silva and Jasanda (Herbert) Laranang, both of Hilo; mother, Mildred Uldine Look of Texas; sisters, Louann (Dennis) Schwab and Brenda Miller, both of Alabama; brothers, Bartley Miller of Alabama, Braxton Miller of Illinois; one aunt; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mamoru Oka

Mamoru Oka, 81, of Keaau died Jan. 8, 2014, at his residence. Born Jan. 5, 1933, in Puunene, Maui, he was a recreational director and an Army veteran.

Friends may call at 11 a.m. Jan. 23 at the Wailuku Hongwanji for a service. Burial follows at 2 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park.

He is survived by son, Kevin Oka of Honolulu; brother, Patrick Oka of Honolulu; sister, Ellen Sasayo Okazaki of San Mateo, Calif.; nieces and nephews.

Alice Estrella

Alice Sau Lin Lau Estrella, 97, of Hilo died Jan 13, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 30, 1916, in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of the Kinney Height Kumiai and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10:30 a.m. service. Burial follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2, Section A. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

She is survived son, Lester Estrella of Hilo; brother, Stanley Lau of Aiea, Oahu; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Consolacion Marcos

Consolacion “Conching” Ucol Marcos, 93, of Keaau died Jan. 5, 2014, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Aug. 29, 1920, in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a self-employed papaya farmer and member of Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Jan. 24 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may call again at 8 a.m. Jan. 25 at Keaau Holy Rosary Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. service. Burial will be held at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua section. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by husband, Alfonso Marcos of Keaau; sons, Juanito (Nellie) Marcos and Romeo (Emma) Marcos, both of Keaau; daughters, Helen Marcos of Keaau, Anita (Howard) Takara of Hilo; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beatrice Nobriga

Beatrice Leinaala Hookahi Nobriga, 87, of Waimea died Jan. 15, 2014. Born July 24, 1926, in Hilo, she was a former telephone operator for the phone company, worked the front desk at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, worked at the Cattleman’s Steakhouse and member of the Hawaiian Civic Club and Lions Club.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Jan. 24 at Imiloa Congregational Church in Waimea for an 11 a.m. service. Burial follows.

She is survived by son, Richard Nobriga of Waimea; sisters, Sarah Mendoza of Kaneohe, Oahu, Harriett (Howard) Ackerman of Kealakekua; brothers, David Hookahi of Columbus, Ga., Kenneth (Helene) Konanue of Kaneohe, Oahu; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Nelson Crawford Jr.

Nelson William Crawford Jr., 65, of Kapaau died Dec. 26, 2013, at his home. Born Sept. 1, 1948, in Rome, N.Y., he was a home and boat builder.

A private service was held. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

He is survived by wife, Edie Crawford of Kapaau; sons, Joshua Crawford, Ezra Crawford, Trout Crawford; daughters, Jenna Crawford, Rose Yazzie; stepsons, Garrett Schniewind, Geoffrey Schniewind; stepdaughter, Laurie Staveley; six grandchildren; mother; two sisters.

Cliff Nagayama

Cliff Masaru Nagayama, 89, of Hilo died Jan. 3, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Olaa, he was a retired heavy equipment mechanic with the former Puna Sugar Co. and member of the Church Of World Messianity, Hilo Branch, and Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.

Private services were held.

He is survived by wife, Yukiko Nagayama of Hilo; stepsons, Garrett (Beverly) Hiraoka of Kapulena, Len (Charmaine Nakanelua) Hiraoka of Kukuihaele; stepdaughter, Charlene Shimabukuro of Hilo; brother, Dennis Nagayama of Kailua, Oahu; four stepgrandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Shizuko Aburamen

Shizuko “Sally” Aburamen, 86, of Hilo died Dec. 22, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Sept. 12, 1927, in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of Higashi Hongwanji Mission, Anela Street Kumiai and Lehua Golf Club.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

She is survived by son, Stanley (Dianne) Aburamen of Honolulu; daughters, Linda (Neal Kawachi) Nako and Cheryl (Anthony) Navarro, both of Hilo, Gwyne (Mark) Sakihara of Wailuku, Maui; sister, Janet (Henry) Shimabukuro of Hilo; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Dora Ishikawa

Dora Taeko Ishikawa, 87, of Hilo died Dec. 29, 2013, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born March 4, 1926, in Hilo, she was the retired office manager for Ruth Oda and member of Hilo Daijingu.

Patricia Sands

Patricia Claire Sands, 70, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 21, 2013, at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 31, 1943, in Alexandria, Va., she was a clinical psychologist.

She is survived by son, Sekou (Natalie) Kelsey of Illinois; stepdaughter, Lori Kelsey of New Mexico; brother, Charles (Peggy) Sands of Missouri; three grandchildren; one niece; one nephew.

William K. Ahia III, 70, of Hilo died July 5, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for Hawaii County and member of the Hilo Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Lorenzo “Dong” Ariola Jr., 73, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 13, 2013, at Kona Community Hospital. Born June 4, 1940, in Ewa, Oahu, he was an industrial painter and member of the International Painters Union.
