The University of Hawaii was superior in all facets in sweeping winless UC San Diego on Friday night in a tidy 89-minute men’s volleyball match at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

Brook Sedore and Sinisa Zarkovic each smacked 16 kills in the No. 10 Rainbow Warriors’ 25-15, 25-13, 25-21 victory. Taylor Averill and Jace Olsen also reached double figures in kills with 11 and 10, respectively, as UH (4-2, 5-1 Mountain West Pacific Federation) hit. 353.

The Tritons (0-6, 0-5) compiled only five more kills (26) than errors and hit .067.

Hawaii, which has won two straight matches, enjoyed an advantage in blocks (10.0-2.5), aces (5-2) and digs (24-21).

Game 3 featured some drama when the Tritons pulled within 11-10, but kills by Zarkovic and Averill sparked a four-point run and UH was never threatened again.

The teams meet again at 5 p.m. Sunday.
