Numeriano Tangaro “Junior” Tampon Jr., 47, of Pahoa died Jan. 17, 2014. Born in Kahuku, he retired as a heavy equipment operator.

William Malakaua

William Kauhane Malakaua, 64, of Mountain View died Jan. 22, 2014, in Kuwait City. Born Jan. 5, 1950, in Hilo, he provided international security for Triple Canopy Inc. in Kuwait and served as sergeant first class of the Hawaii Army National Guard for 26 years.

William De-Perez

William De-Perez, 92, of Hilo died Sept. 23, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Oct. 9, 1920, in Hilo, he was a bus driver for the Hawaii state government and an Army veteran.

Friends may call at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 1 at Trinity Community Church Assembly of God in Hilo for a service. Burial follows at 3 p.m. at Alae Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn.

Gertrude Alani Pauline, 66, of Hilo died Dec. 27, 2013. Born in Hilo, she retired as a certified nurse’s aide.

Raymond Russell

Raymond “Razor” Russell, 60, died Jan. 20, 2014. Born March 16, 1953, in California, he was a former instructor at Keauhou Beauty School and member of Calvary Chapel in Kona and Hawaii Midnight Riders Motorcycle Club, a volunteer van driver for the Kona DVA clinic and a Navy veteran.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Feb. 1 at Calvary Chapel, 74-5599 Luhia St., Kailua-Kona, for a service. Burial will be held later at West Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.

He is survived by wife, Sophia Russell; parents, Bernice and Ray Russell; sons, Jonny, Dusty and Ryan Russell; stepson, Joe Gindele; sister, Renee (Billy) Roulet; one granddaughter.

Chikao Mukai

Chikao “Mike” Mukai, 86, of Hilo died Jan. 23, 2014, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born July 7, 1927, in Hilea, Ka‘u, he was retired from the Air Force, a retired fleet maintenance mechanic for Hawaiian Tel and member of Hui Okinawa and Makalika Kumiai.

Lorna Daisy Momiala Lee-Rodrigues, 60, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 21, 2014, at a family member’s residence. Born Nov. 25, 1953, in Kealakekua, she was a former concierge at Kona Village Resort and member of Mokuaikaua Congregational Church.

Thelma Tyler

Thelma Weeks Tyler, 94, of Kailua-Kona, died Jan. 13, 2014, at her home. Born June 26, 1919, in Kealakekua, she was a homemaker, founding member of Kona Outdoor Circle and a lifetime member of Christ Church Episcopal.

Friends may call at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 15 at Christ Church Episcopal in Kealakekua for an 11 a.m. service. Burial will be at the church cemetery. A reception will follow. Betty Nelson

Betty Chan Nui Nelson, 92, of Honalo died Dec. 28, 2013, at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 10, 1921, in Hilo, she was a bookkeeper at the former King Kamehameha Hotel and Teshima’s Restaurant, a postal clerk at the Holualoa post office, a library clerk at Holualoa Public Library and a coffee picker.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 8 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Holualoa for a 10 a.m. service. Interment will be held at Punchbowl Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

Ralph Nakagawa

Ralph Akio Nakagawa, 82, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 27, 2013, in Honolulu. Born Sept. 20, 1931, in Honolulu, he was a retired employee of American Honda Motor Corp. and member of Hope Chapel Kailua-Kona.

Edwin Keohohou

Edwin Jack Keohohou, 65, of Kawaihae died Dec. 30, 2013, at his home. Born March 1, 1948, in Honolulu, he was a retired structural ironworker and an Army veteran.

Joseph Tormey Jr., 76, of Land O’Lakes, Fla., died Dec. 26, 2013. Born in Baltimore, he was a retired investment broker and corporate vice president of A.G. Edwards &Sons Inc. in Florida and an Army veteran.

Leonard Yet Num Chow, 89, of Hilo died Jan. 6, 2014, at his residence. Born in Hilo, he was retired from Hawaiian Equipment and United Airlines, was past president and member of the Hilo Chinese Cemetery Association and member of Hilo Bon Dance Club.

Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.

He is survived by wife, Gertrude Chow of Hilo; son, Leonard Chow of Hilo; sisters, Margaret Mochizuki of Arizona, Blossom Lee of Las Vegas, Bette Chow of Honolulu; brother, Donald (Ethel) Chow of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews.
