Vivian Kaupu

Vivian “Lucky” Kaupu, 68, of Holualoa died Jan. 30, 2013, at Wahiawa General Hospital. Born Oct. 28, 1945, in North Kona, she was a homemaker and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Feb. 15 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ka‘u Ward in Naalehu for an 11:30 a.m. service. Burial follows in the Naalehu County Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

She is survived by sons, Bernard (Nyla) Kaupu and Silva (Marie) Kaupu Jr., both of Holualoa; daughter, Sylvia (Afton) Tayamen of Holualoa; hanai sons, Mike (Jennifer) Rivera of Holualoa, Nick (Tera) Kaawa of Kainaliu, Keola (Salena) Kaawa and Gary (Candice) Kaawa, both of Ka‘u, Gordon (Dahlia) Kala of Ocean View; hanai daughter, Jennifer Gouveia of Hilo; brothers, Henry Grace Sr., of Kealia, Nolan (Wylan) Grace of Honolulu; sisters, Kamila (Charles) Nolan of Oahu, Juanita Pedro of Ka‘u, Linda (Chips) Saiki and Sandy Kawagor, both of Hilo; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maximillian Kuhns

Maximillian Kamahalonuiokalani Kuhns, 79, of Waikoloa died Jan. 30, 2014, at Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was the owner of The Big Island Trucking Co.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 15 at Imiola Congregational Church in Waimea. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Winona Rodrigues Kuhns; daughters, Candis Papalii, Kelly De Costa and Cory Causey, all of Big Island; brother, Jonathan Kuhns of San Francisco; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Robert Loando Sr.

Robert Loando Sr., 83, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 27, 2014, in Honolulu. Born in Kona, he was a paniolo.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 15 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Lorraine Loando; son, Robert Loando Jr., daughters, Cathy Loando-James, Gina Loando-Henderson; brothers, August Loando Sr., Gilbert Loando Sr.; four grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
