Geologist speaking Tuesday at library

Geologist Mark Solien will give a presentation on the geology and native plants of Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Kailua-Kona Public Library.

Kaloko-Honokohau is the site of an ancient Hawaiian settlement that encompasses portions of four ahupuaa. Resources include fishponds, kahua (house site platforms), kii pohaku (petroglyphs), holua (stone slide) and heiau (religious site). The program is sponsored by Friends of the Libraries, Kona.
