Gary Dale Autry, 59, of Kailua-Kona died Feb. 11, 2014, at his residence. Born Sept. 7, 1954, in San Angelo, Texas, he was an Army Vietnam veteran, antique salesman, jewelry designer; and a Friend of Bill W.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 18 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona for a gravesite service. Guests are invited to attend luncheon and fellowship at the Hawaii Big Game Fishing Club at Honokohau Harbor. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

He is survived by wife, Amanda Mazzanti of Kailua-Kona; sister, Susan Autry of Honolulu; hanai brother, Bernard Akaka.

John O’Connell

John P. O’Connell, 81, of Hilo died Feb. 13, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Massachusetts.

He is survived by son, John O’Connell of Hilo; brother, James O’Connell of Florida; sister, Susan O’Connell of Michigan; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lapaz Camero

Lapaz Tabudlo Camero, 86, of Kapaau died Jan. 29, 2014, at her residence. Born Dec. 11, 1927, in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a retired housekeeper for the Sheraton Waikiki.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Feb. 21 at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Hawi for a visitation. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. Feb. 22 at the church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows in the Hawi County Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn. flowers are welcome.

Randall Makaalu Hatori, 39, of Hilo died Feb. 4, 2014, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, he was a landscaper.

Mamo Jean Peltier Pomroy Otineru, 69, of Hilo died Feb. 9, 2014, in Hilo. Born July 27, 1944, in Honolulu, she was a travel coordinator for Unity House Inc. in Honolulu and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

David Thomas DeRego, 85, of Honokaa died Feb. 11, 2014, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born March 27, 1928, in Waianae, Oahu, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for Hamakua Sugar Co. and member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa.

James “Dr. Phil” Philip McLaren, 72, of Waikoloa died Feb. 12, 2014. Born May 17, 1941, in Los Angeles, he was a professor of biology, a pastor to children and member of Missouri Synod Lutheran, Anglican Mission in America, Scotts Charitable Society and the Clan MacLaren Society of North America.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Feb. 22 at Waikoloa Community Church on Paniolo Road for a service.

He is survived by wife, Lynne McLaren of Waikoloa; daughters, Reilly (Chris Guardino) McLaren of Beverly Hills, Calif., Merry (Jeff) Smith and Lark McLaren, both of Quincy, Mass.; hanai daughter, Linda Hoover of Waimea; brother, David (Faye) McLaren of McDonough, Ga.; three grandchildren.

Miyoko Quitoriano, 79, of Hilo died Jan. 20, 2014, on Oahu. Born Dec. 28, 1934, in Pahala, she was a housewife.

Clara Loyola, 76, of Kalaoa died Feb. 8, 2014, at her residence. Born Nov. 3, 1937, in Paia, Maui, she was a retired service representative for Hawaiian Telephone Co.

Louise Butler

Louise Brakeley Butler, 68, of Pahoa died Feb. 7, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Dec. 16, 1945, in Exeter, N.H., she was retired.

She is survived by daughter, Elizabeth Butler of Williams, Ore.; son, Rick (Diane) Butler of Salem, N.H.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Virginia Santmyer

Virginia Thurston Santmyer, 100, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 18, 2014, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born Jan. 10, 1914, in Santa Ana, Calif., she was a retired telephone operator for AT&T.

She is survived by sons, Charles (Lanel) Santmyer of Tustin, Calif., Stephen Santmyer of Pauma Valley, Calif.; daughters, Gretchen Newlon of Captain Cook, Doris Radice of Tustin, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; four nephews; one niece.

Keylan Sato

Keylan Katsuji Kaleo Sato, 24, of Pepeekeo and Oahu, died Feb. 9, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born April 14, 1989, in Honolulu, he was a student, lifeguard and personal trainer at the University of Hawaii at Hilo and Hawaii Community College, a reporter for Ke Kalahea newspaper and peer mentor for Peer Assistant Linkages and Support.

A service was held at University of Hawaii at Hilo. Services will be held on Oahu at a later date. Condolences may be posted at homelanimemorialpark.com.

He is survived by mother, Dana Sato of Wahiawa, Oahu; brother, Isaiah Sato of Wahiawa, Oahu; paternal grandfather, Katsuji Sato of Wahiawa, Oahu; maternal grandmother, Catherine Tanoue of Wailuku, Maui.

Lyndon Onaka

Lyndon Keiji Onaka, 55, of Bend, Ore., died Jan. 27, 2014, in Kailua-Kona. Born Oct. 1, 1958 in Kona, he was an entertainer who worked at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and other local hotels and at the Bend Country Club.

Private services were held.

He is survived by daughter, Lyndsie Onaka of Bend, Ore.; mother, Rose Onaka of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Roslyn (Shirl) Peterson of Holualoa, Stephanie (Robert) McGee of Las Vegas, Cathy (Melvin) Agena of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews.

George Stanley Henshaw, 90, of Waikoloa died Feb. 9, 2014, at home. Born March 2, 1923, in London, he was a mechanical engineer for TRICO.

Saramae Landers

Saramae Williams Landers, 107, of Pahoa died Feb. 10, 2014, at her residence. Born in Samaria, Idaho, she was a retired guidance counselor for the Renton, Wash., School District and member of the Retired Hawaii State Teachers Association, Big Island United Nations Association, Pahoa Senior Citizens and Pahoa Community Medical Association.

Services will be held in Boise, Idaho, at a later date.

She is survived by son, Lewis (Cheryl) Landers of Washington; daughter, Sara Burgess of Pahoa; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
