CD release party held Friday in Hilo

Slack-key master Ben Kaili will celebrate the release of his album, “Huanani” at the next Imiloa After Dark event at 7 p.m. Friday.

The album will be played and a talk story session will be held at Imiloa Astronomy Center’s planetarium in Hilo.

Tickets are $15 for nonmembers and $12 for members. Tickets may be purchased at the Imiloa front desk or by calling 969-9703.

Volunteers sought to teach reef etiquette in Puako

ReefTeach and Puako Makai Watch are seeking volunteers to educate visitors of Waialea Bay (Beach 69) and Paniau Beach in Puako about reef etiquette.

The next orientation for new volunteers will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Hokuloa Church, 1600 Puako Beach Drive. Volunteers set their own schedules and get to spend time at two of Hawaii Island’s most beautiful beaches.

Businesses and schools may contact Punihaole or Clarke for information on how to Adopt-a-Day for their team at Paniau or Waialea Bay.

Christopher Camero VFW Post 12122 will offer a beef stroganoff dinner and dance from 5 to 8 pm. Friday. Jack and the Rippers will perform. The fee is $10 for dinner with a $5 cover charge.
