The Living Arts Gallery in Hawi will feature its newest artist member, Tim Pervinkler, in a month-long show of his large format nature photography on canvas.

Pervinkler’s show of beautiful 3-by-4-foot and larger canvases will be on display throughout March. He will be at the gallery to talk story all day every Thursday and Saturday during the month. The Living Arts Gallery is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is located on the main street of Hawi, at 55-3435 Akoni Pule Highway, Suite 10.

Pervinkler is always in search of the magic moment in his photography from the patterns in breaking waves to delicate shadows forming beautiful abstract patterns on leaves.

Pervinkler has been taking photographs for 50 years, and has won numerous photographic awards.

From 2007 to 2012 his work was regularly selected to be shown at the top 50 juried art shows in America. Time and again he received awards and was invited back to be a featured artist. His artistry is also expressed in the fact that he makes all of his own prints, using his original high-resolution digital images and the best archival inks and canvas. Pervinkler has lived, traveled and photographed in many other countries. After 20 years on the Big Island and then 14 years away, he has returned to his favorite place to live and make beautiful photographic art from the Big Island’s natural grandeur.

Pervinkler makes custom sizes of his original photographs for wall spaces in homes and offices. With a photograph of a wall, he can scale his image and digitally place it on the wall so the customer will know exactly how it will look.
