Regina Neula

Regina Ann “Gina” Kuuipolani Moniz Neula, 46, of Kohala died Feb. 22, 2014, on Oahu. Born Nov. 9, 1967, in Kohala, she was a homemaker, former worker for the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel-Bay Terrace and Herb’s Place in Honokaa and member of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kohala.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. March 8 at Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kohala for a 9:45 a.m. service. Burial will be held at Hawi County Cemetery and a luncheon will follow at Hawi Jodo Mission. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

She is survived by husband, Wesley Neula of Kapaau; son, Jacob Neula of Kapaau; father, Raymond Moniz of Kapaau; brothers, Damien (Renee) Moniz and Gabriel (Aja) Moniz, both of Hilo; sister, Melinda (Boyd Yanagawa) Moniz of Hilo; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Garry Hajek

Garry Michael Hajek, 59, of Hakalau died Feb. 25, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Michigan, he was the owner of the Lai Nani Resort in Hakalau.

Friends may call at 2 p.m. March 9 at the Lai Nani Resort for a 3 p.m. service.

He is survived by daughter, Kera Hajek of Virginia; son, Cory Hajek of Hakalau.

Vivian Borero

Vivian R. Borero, 87, of Hilo died March 2, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 6, 1927, in Olaa, Hawaii, she was a homemaker and member of Glad Tidings Church in Hilo.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. March 12 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for an 11 a.m. service. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park, Section 7. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Byron (Donna Mae) Smith Sr. of Hilo, Alexander (Diane) Borero Jr. of Mountain View; daughters, Diane Smith of Kurtistown, Lynn Smith of Hilo, Maraiah (Armstrong Jr.) Yamamoto of Hawaiian Beaches, Linda Borero of Las Vegas; brothers, Sarafin Carvalho of Honolulu, Benjamin Martinez of Fremont, Calif., Manuel (Ethel) Martinez of Paradise Park; sisters, Jackie (Carl) McKenzie of Honolulu, Emily Pascual of Hawaiian Acres, Matilda Rivera of Ainaloa; 34 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

June Dant

June S. Dant, 95, of Kailua-Kona died Feb. 27, 2014, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born June 11, 1918, in Lincoln, Neb., she was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church and Daughters of Hawaii.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. March 12 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a 9 a.m. service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the St. Michael church building fund.

She is survived by daughter, Annie (Sidney) Sheray of Kona and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Stanley Noland

Stanley Darrel Noland, 66, of Kailua-Kona died March 1, 2014. Born Aug. 15, 1947, in Vanaliea, Ill., he served in the Army and worked as a shuttle bus driver.

Private services will be held.

He is survived by daughters, Elena (Matthew Tavares) Noland of Hilo, Palila Noland of Kealakekua, Julie Feller of Bakersfield, Calif., Leah (Martin Jensen) Mirget of Seattle; sister, Carolyn Percell of Warren, Ind.; eight grandchildren.
