Kaiwiki Road in Hilo was reopened Friday afternoon, according to the Hawaii County Civil Defense. All repairs are complete to the Kaiwiki Road bridge.
Kaiwiki Road at Aikane Loop in Hilo was closed to both directions of travel around 8:30 a.m. Friday because of damage to the bridge, the Hawaii Police Department reported.
