Words and Wine scheduled Tuesday
Local author Francene Hart and traveling authors Lisa Biritz and John Knoebber will be featured during Kona Stories Book Shop’s Words and Wine event at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Keauhou Shopping Center.
Hart is an internationally recognized visionary artist. Her “Sacred Geometry Oracle Deck” introduces a new way to access the wisdom and unlock the power of sacred geometry.
Biritz will present her book, “The Opening – Dolphins, Whales and Star Beings, a Journey Home,” that describes how a woman’s life was changed following guidance from spirit and dolphins.
Knoebber will describe his book, “When it was Good” which offers tales from lands remote and exotic and tells the story of two friends on the road for seven months.

Job fair held Wednesday
Job seekers are invited to a job fair Wednesday in King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel’s Kamakahonu ballrooms.
Veterans, service members, persons with disabilities and Going Home participants are encouraged to attend at 10 a.m. and all other job seekers are welcome from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Job seekers will have an opportunity to meet with 25 employers, conduct interviews and learn about job openings and hiring specifics. Job seekers should register at eventbrite.com/e/kona-job-fair-tickets-10521204205. Walk-ins will also be accepted. Parking is $3.

Volcano talk scheduled in Ocean View
The lava flows and volcanic landscapes along Queen Kaahumanu and Mamalahoa highways, from Ka‘u to Kona, will be the focus of a public talk offered by U.S. Geological Survey Hawaiian Volcano Observatory scientists.
Observatory scientist-in-charge Jim Kauahikaua and geologist Janet Babb will recount the volcanic history, stories, and impacts of lava flows flanking Highways 11 and 190 in a virtual road trip that was originally presented as a Volcano Awareness Month talk in January. The talk will be repeated at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Ocean View Community Center, 92-8924 Leilani Circle, in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates.
Kauahikaua and Babb are offering these talks to remind people that Mauna Loa and Hualalai are active volcanoes that will erupt again.

Masons dinner meeting Wednesday

Kona coffee farmer Dave Bateman will give a historical talk, “Coffee 101,” to the Rotary Club of Kona Sunrise Wednesday.

Senior ID cards to be issued
The coordinated Services for the Elderly Program of the Elderly Activities Division will issue Senior ID cards at several locations in April.
Cards will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Kmart in Kailua-Kona, from 9 to 11 a.m. April 14 at St. Jude’s Church in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates, from 9 to 11 a.m. April 14 at Kohala CSE, from 9 to 11 a.m. April 15 at L. Yoshimatsu Senior Center in Waimea, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 25 at Yano Hall, from 3 to 4 p.m. April 28 at Hale Hauoli Senior Center in Honokaa and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 30 at West Hawaii Civic Center Building B.
