A judge on Wednesday reduced bail for Randi-Keli Banagan to $250,000.
Banagan, 22, of Captain Cook, is facing an attempted murder charge, among others, after she allegedly shot a 26-year-old man Friday morning in Holualoa. The victim was treated at Kona Community Hospital and released.
Banagan made a court appearance Wednesday in Hilo. Her preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m. Friday in Kona.
Detectives charged Banagan on Monday with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree assault, first-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree reckless endangering, use of a firearm in the commission of a separate felony, three counts of not having a place to keep loaded firearm, three counts of having loaded firearm on a public highway, not having place to keep ammunition, two counts of illegally transferring possession of firearms, two counts of failing to have a permit to acquire firearm, two counts of ownership or possession firearm when prohibited, third-degree promoting a dangerous drug and having drug paraphernalia. Her bail was set at $498,000.
According to court records, Banagan’s bail was reduced to $250,000 after an application for judiciary determination was not submitted in a timely manner.
