Some UH services affected by Heartbleed bug

A few University of Hawaii services have been affected by the Heartbleed Internet security flaw.

Users of the affected services will be contacted directly to change their passwords, according to the university. The university’s Information Technology Services recently completed an assessment of the vulnerability for primary UH services.

No core University of Hawaii system services are considered vulnerable at this time, which means no password change is required for most users, according to the university. Services not affected include: Banner, Kuali Financial Services, Peoplesoft, Laulima, Google@UH and the systems used to login to these services.

The list of services and the impact of the Heartbleed bug is available at hawaii.edu/infosec/heartbleed. To view the page, visitors must login with their UH username and password.
