Kevin Yoshiyama

Kevin Kazuo Yoshiyama, 29, of Hilo died April 22, 2014, at his residence. Born Dec. 11, 1984, in Hilo, he was employed by Hui Malama Ola Na Oiwi as an assistant program manager.

Friends may call at 3:30 p.m. April 29 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by parents, Patrick and Lois Yoshiyama of Hilo; sisters, Karla Yamanoha and Marcia (Brent Sakamoto) Yoshiyama, both of Hilo; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Irene Rapoza

Irene Gouveia Rapoza, 93, of Honokohau died April 13, 2014, at her residence. Born July 18, 1920, in Honokohau, she was a homemaker.

Private services will be held. Contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of Kona or Kona Historical Society.

She is survived by son, Clarence (Cathy) Rapoza of Honokohau; daughters, Barbara Bohenkamp of Pilot Rock, Ore., Julie Viloria of Keopu; brothers, George Gouveia of Honokohau, Richard (Fannie) Gouveia of Kailua-Kona; sister, Rita (Julian) Gouveia of Holualoa; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Grace Stubbins-Marston

Grace Marie Stubbins-Marston, 92, of Hilo died April 9, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Long Beach, Calif., she was a homemaker, the former Miss Lurline, a former Betty Crocker test cook and a volunteer at the Salk Institute in La Jolla, Calif.

Private services were held.

She is survived by daughters, Barbara (Gary) Andersen of Hilo, Joan (James) Blackshear-Leech of Holualoa, Lisa Naumu of Palm Desert, Calif., Elizabeth Bontecou of Kailua-Kona; stepson, Ric Stubbins of San Diego; stepdaughter, Amanda Singer of Idaho; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one niece.

Norman Yee

Norman Wai On Yee, 80, of Hilo died March 6, 2014, at Moanalua Medical Center on Oahu. Born April 4, 1933, in Kona, he was an electrical engineer retired from the Hughes Aircraft Co. in Los Angeles.

Private services were held. In lieu of monetary gifts or flowers, donations in his name may be made to a charity of choice.

He is survived by mother, Sam Choy Yee of Hilo; sisters, Carol (Hop) Jeong of San Lorenzo, Calif., Marion Leighton of Modesto, Calif., Geraldine (Robert) Fulton of Carson City, Nev., Myrna Yee of Hayward, Calif.; numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.

Diane Quenon

Diane Lynn Quenon, 60, of Ocean View died April 12, 2014, at her residence. Born Oct. 13, 1953, in Slayton Murray, Minn., she was a homemaker, Navy veteran and member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She is survived by daughter, Carrie Branco of Ocean View; sister, Linda Johannes of Las Vegas; four grandchildren; a niece; two nephews.

Violet Correia

Violet Correia, 86, of Kalopa died April 20, 2014, at Hale Hoola Hamakua. Born in Kalopa, she was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa and Paauilo Senior Citizens.

She is survived by son, Louis (Colleen) Correia of Kalopa; granddaughter, Rachelle Correia of Kalopa; numerous nieces and nephews.

Winifred Van Doren

Winifred Jean Van Doren, 94, of Mountain View died April 18, 2014, at her residence. Born in England, she was a homemaker and retired high school English teacher.

She is survived by daughters, Anna Van Doren of Mountain View, Mary (Ron) Boyle of Lincoln, California; son, Mark Van Doren of Mountain View; six grandchildren; two great-grandsons.
