HONOLULU — Two finalists are vying to become the next president of the University of Hawaii.

Interim President David Lassner and retired Lt. Gen. Francis Wiercinski will be visiting UH campuses statewide this month, starting Tuesday. They’ll participate in public forums and meet with students, faculty and community members.

The university says the Board of Regents hopes to select a president in June.

Lassner took over last year after M.R.C. Greenwood said she would step down to deal with health problems and spend more time with family.

Wiercinski was a three-star general who retired after leading U.S. Army Pacific for two years.
