Volunteers from More Than Enough and Abundant Life Ministries donated more than $5,000 in manpower hours to build and complete the Hooko Park baseball dugouts May 2. In cooperation with Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation Director Bob Fitzgerald, this undertaking was in the planning stages for 15 months.

The project coordinator, Charlie “Kalani” Kaili worked with the county to obtain the materials and building plans. The plans became a reality with Joshua Larrua leading the construction crews. Volunteers were provided lunch and cold drinks as the day progressed.

The dugouts will provide much needed shade while playing games at the park.
