WAILUKU, Maui — The Maui Humane Society is getting a new CEO.

The Maui News says the Humane Society’s board of directors on Thursday announced the appointment of Sandra “Sandy” Shelby.

The Illinois woman is set to start at the Puunene shelter on July 15.

She replaces former longtime CEO Jocelyn Bouchard, who resigned at the end of April. Bouchard left to take a job with the Hawaiian Humane Society on Oahu.
