Skateboarder dies in Honolulu crash

HONOLULU — A 54-year-old skateboarder has died after colliding with a vehicle in Honolulu.

Hawaii News Now says the crash occurred Thursday at the intersection of Alohea and 10th avenues near Kapiolani Community College.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. Honolulu police say the skateboarder was not wearing a helmet when the crash occurred.

The driver of the SUV involved in the collision was not hurt.
