VA clinic gives veterans great care

This is in regards to your front page article on June 5 — “Veterans sound off on long waits for health care.” As a disabled Vietnam-era veteran, I am outraged by the remarks made by Chip Kull, regarding his statement that “trying to get hold of anyone at the clinic is just horrid.”

I have been going to the VA clinic for more than 15 years and have never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a scheduled appointment. All of the staff at the clinic — from the front office to the clinicians upstairs, do a fantastic job of providing the veterans in West Hawaii with the best medical and psychological care they require.

Take a breath — realize just how hard these people work for us. Rather than complain, take a moment and thank them for the very hard work they do on a daily basis.

Blaming pot farmers for water woes?

Let me get this straight. Because it just does not sound right. California has millions of acres of water for intensive farming such as rice and alfalfa but is blaming its water problems on the miniscule pot farms.

It sounds more like another desperate last gasp of the anti-marijuana fanatics whose policies have caused so much harm and violence.
