Why remove coral and not the litter?
I see that the coral removers have gone all the way past Waikoloa. What stands out the most is the litter that is now apparent. I wonder if the coral removers noticed or were they so enveloped in their coral zeal that they missed the litter?
Wouldn’t a better use of their time be spent picking up the litter instead of the coral “graffiti” that has been here longer than they have?

What’s all the hysteria over soccer about?
World Cup hysteria, I just don’t get it.
Another World Cup has come and gone, and the soccer world goes into hibernation — at least in America — for another four years. And I say thank the Lord. I played soccer in high school and college and absolutely loved playing it, but as a spectator sport, it is almost entirely devoid of excitement.
Germany defeated Argentina 1 to 0 in the last second of the championship game that lasted over 90 minutes. The highlights of the game later on the news lasted less than 45 seconds. Forty-five seconds of excitement in a contest that lasted more than 104 minutes. And the fans get so fired up that they riot in the streets the rest of the night. Both sides, whether they won or lost, there are riots.
People are killed over soccer. I can only assume it’s the release of pent-up suicidal boredom.
I love American football, but I’ve never felt the urge to flip a car or kill someone after a game, not even after a Superbowl — and I went to the first Super Bowl in 1967 at the LA Coliseum.
I wish I could get excited about soccer. I feel that I’m missing something everyone else gets. But 1 to 0 after 104 minutes … zzzzzzzzz.
