HONOLULU — The Coast Guard says four snorkelers have been rescued near Molokini Crater off Maui.

The Coast Guard says one of the people rescued Sunday was unresponsive. There was no immediate update Monday to that snorkeler’s condition.

According to the Coast Guard, the operator of the vessel, Double Scoop, notified authorities that one of their snorkelers was unresponsive and three others were stranded in the rocks in a surf zone.

Responders recovered the nonresponsive snorkeler and the three others, and transferred them on a rescue boat. Responders administered CPR to the snorkeler.

The four snorkelers were taken to a hospital.

The Maui County Fire Department also assisted in the response.
