Blue Startups accepting applicants
Blue Startups, the Hawaii-based technology accelerator with an Asia and Pacific focus, is accepting applications for a fourth cohort of startup companies. Founded by Henk Rogers of Blue Planet Software, Blue Startups provides investment capital and mentorship to startup companies in Hawaii.
Blue Startups is recruiting capital-efficient and scalable-technology companies, including Internet, software, mobile, gaming and e-commerce. The program accepts up to 10 companies for each cohort. Hawaiian adding planes to its fleet
Hawaiian Airlines has signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus to acquire six new A330-800neo aircraft starting in 2019, with rights to purchase an additional six aircraft as part of the carrier’s vision to serve farther nonstop destinations from Hawaii. The order replaces Hawaiian Airline’s existing order for six A350XWB-800 aircraft, which were due for delivery from 2017.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but the aircraft have a total list-price value of approximately $2.9 billion if all of the purchase rights are exercised.

Hawaii-based Hearts &Stars Salon &Day Spa has been named to ELLE magazine’s annual list of top 100 salons in the United States—America’s Best Hair. Opened in 2013, the full service salon located in Waikoloa joins the prestigious list as the only spa from Hawaii.

Mauna Kea Resort earns new, healthy travel accreditation
Mauna Kea Resort has been selected as a founding member of the Institute for Healthy Destination Accreditation — a new, healthy travel certification program. Six resorts across the nation have been invited to join the inaugural group.
The accreditation process is designed to help hotels measure and improve their health-related initiatives, amenities and personnel. The Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit also offers a consumer portal described as a cross between TripAdvisor and Consumer Reports, with a singular focus on healthy travel.
