Seniors meet Wednesday

The Kailua-Kona Seniors will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Hale Halawai. Members will carpool to visit the Kona Natural Soap Co. in Holualoa. This is a members only activity. Correct payment for the transportation fee is required.

There will be no meeting at Hale Halawai this week.

Retreat offered at Hawi site

Master Peng Xiaoping from China will discuss how to use Fa Qi and other exercises to improve health during a retreat from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Aug. 15 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 16 and 17 at Kokolulu Farm and Cancer Retreats in Hawi.

Peng is an internationally recognized teacher and healer who worked at the world’s largest qigong “medicine-less” hospital, Huaxia Zhineng Qigong Clinic &Training Center that has treated more than 200,000 patients, with more than 185 illnesses with a 95 percent effective improvement rate. Peng served as full-time personal assistant for Dr. Pang Ming, the creator of Zhineng Qigong and founder and leader of ZNQG Huaxia Centre.

Peng is also offering individual healing sessions for the next four months at Kokolulu by appointment.

West Hawaii County Band to perform classical music

Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation and the West Hawaii County Band are offering a free classical music concert from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hale Halawai. Seating will be available at this drug-, tobacco-, alcohol- and litter-free event.
