No tsunami from Micronesia quake

A 7.2 earthquake in the region of the Federated States of Micronesia on Saturday afternoon did not pose a tsunami threat, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Ewa Beach.

The tremblor struck at 2:22 p.m.

“A destructive Pacific-wide tsunami is not expected and there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii,” according to a statement from the center.
