A Hawaii Fire Department helicopter crew made an emergency landing in Honokane Nui Tuesday afternoon.

The department’s Chopper 1 was performing an evacuation mission related to Hurricane Iselle when it began to experience an engine failure. The crew landed at the Honokane Nui cabin. A Paradise Helicopter crew located the chopper and gave the location to the fire dispatch center.

There were no injuries and the crew was extricated from the area. The aircraft was not damage, fire officials said, adding they have a backup helicopter available and emergency services will continue.
