Services for “Bronco” Dennis Allan Branco Sr., 68, of Hilo have been changed because of the impending arrival of Hurricane Iselle. Services are now scheduled for Aug. 16 at Glad Tidings Church in Hilo with visitation at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m.

Sylvia Kuanoni

Sylvia Ah Ching Kuanoni, 88, of Keaukaha died Aug. 4, 2014, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born Sept. 25, 1925, in Ookala, she was a homemaker and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Keaukaha Ward.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Aug. 9 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by daughters, Shirley (Richard) Kagawa, Janet (Randy) Yokoyama, both of Hilo, Patricia Ah Ching of Puna, Karen (Pete) Peters of Virginia; brother, Herbert Ah Ching of Hilo; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Blankenfeld-Derr

Kimberly Ann Blankenfeld-Derr, 45, of Hilo died Aug. 6, 2014, at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a kindergarten teacher with the Kamehameha Schools Hawaii Campus in Keaau.

Friends may call at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Performing Arts Chapel at the Kamehameha Schools in Keaau for a 2 p.m. service. Family requests aloha attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Miles Derr, Makana Provost and Nakoa Provost, all of Hilo; parents, Richard and Judy Blankenfeld of Hilo; brother, Scott (Jenny) Blankenfeld of California; sister, Kristine (Bill) Lindsey of California; maternal grandmother, Ruth Langesen of Iowa; companion, Scott Provost of Hilo; uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Toshio Nagai

Toshio Nagai, 75, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 1, 2014, in Crystal River, Fla. Born Oct. 17, 1938, in Honokaa, he was an electronic technician for the Department of Defense, an Air Force and Air National Guard veteran, was employed at Avis Rent a Car, Jack’s Tours and KTA in Keauhou and member of Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Shinwakai, Waiaha Kumiai and the Kona Young Farmers.

Friends may call at 3 p.m. Aug. 12 at Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in Kealakekua for a 4 p.m. service. Private inurnment will be at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery.

He is survived by wife, Linda Nagai of Kailua-Kona; son, Stephen (Kathy) Nagai of Waikele, Oahu; daughters, Kelley (Peter) Harron of Clermont, Fla., Shawn (Rodney) Sato of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Shuichi (Keiko) Nagai of Wahiawa, Oahu, Shiro Nagai of Moanalua, Oahu, Seichi (Fusayo) Nagai of Pearl City, Oahu; sisters, Hanako (Doris) Hiroe of Wahiawa, Oahu, Aiko (Kazuo) Nakamitsu of Hawaii Kai, Oahu; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

James Fry

James Wesley Fry, 70, of Papaikou died July 13, 2014, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born Aug. 17, 1943, in Mountain View, he was a retired specialist from the Army, a Vietnam War Army veteran and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Aug. 13 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou for a 10 a.m. service. Burial follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by sister, Valerie (Patrick) Figueira of Papaikou; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Frank Arnise Jr.

Frank Arnise Jr., 59, of Lahaina, Maui, died July 19, 2014, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. Born Dec. 3, 1954, in Kealakekua, he was an engineer and landscaping manager for the Royal Lahaina Resort.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Aug. 16 at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, also known as the Painted Church, 84-5140 Painted Church Road in Captain Cook, for an 11 a.m. service.

He is survived by sons, Frank Arnise III, Allen (Amanda) Arnise; daughter, Shaylen (Jeremy) Arnise; parents, Frank and Philemena Arnise Sr.; brother, Frederick (Sawan) Arnise; sister, Francine (Kippy) King; five grandchildren.

Boyd Coffman Jr.

Boyd Jackson Coffman Jr., 90, of Kihei, Maui, died June 19, 2014, on Maui. Born Aug. 20, 1923, in Illinois, he retired as the owner of World Rent A Car in Kailua-Kona.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Aug. 20 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery for a service.

Boyd is survived by son, Boyd (Cathy) Coffman III of California; daughters, Susan (Mark) Thompson of Georgia, Kelly (Matthew) Thayer of Maui; half-brother, Paul Coffman (Barbara) of California; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Susan Cruz

Susan Lorena Cruz, 59, of Waianae, Oahu, died July 28, 2014, in Waianae. Born Dec. 13, 1954, in Florida, she was a caregiver, homemaker, nurse, lifeguard and model.

Services will be held later.

She is survived by son, Shaun (Kanoe Crivello) Spencer; daughter, Leilani (Branda Kahananui) Spencer; brother, Timothy Dyal; sister, Rebecca (Greg) Smith; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald Giles

Donald Dee Giles, 89, of Kailua-Kona died July 30, 2014, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born June 25, 1925, in Silverton, Colo., he was a retired real estate salesman, a member of Shriners and an Army veteran.

Private services will be held.

He is survived by son, Scott (Joan) Giles of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Laura (Gil) Jorgenson of Coos Bay, Ore.; two grandsons.
