Police nabbed an alleged Hale Nani reintegration center escapee Sunday night in Hilo.

According to a police log, 27-year-old Kalaikona Abraham Fukuhara was arrested at 9:35 p.m. at a Liliuokalani Lane home.

He was booked on suspicion of second-degree escape and second-degree promotion of prison contraband. The case has been turned over to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for further disposition.

According to the state Department of Public Safety, Fukuhara, who was serving time for burglary, ran away from the community-based facility in Panaewa at about 8:30 p.m. Friday.

He was the second Hale Nani inmate to bolt in less than a week. Another, Sean Duyser, was caught Thursday several hours after escaping from the facility.
