The Genesis Gallery in Waikoloa will carry the work of marine life artist Wyland.

For Genesis Gallery owners John and Vera Kirkpatrick, the relationship marks a homecoming of sorts for the couple who began their careers 17 years ago working for the artist before branching out with their own galleries. After leaving their apprenticeship with Wyland, the pair opened Genesis Galleries at Kings’ Shops, hosting international art and museum glass. A second gallery was opened at Queens’ MarketPlace that offers an all-Hawaii artist lineup. Recently, the couple received a call from Wyland “and we picked up where we left off,” Vera Kirkpatrick said. Wyland invited the Kirkpatricks to visit his North Shore home and studio.

The couple also discovered how far Wyland’s nonprofit foundation, the Wyland Foundation, had evolved into a nationally respected community service organizations, serving communities in every state in the nation.

Genesis Galleries Hawaii at Queens’ MarketPlace will offer Wyland classic bronze sculpture. Genesis will also host Wyland original drawings, watercolors acrylic and oils.

Wyland is planning a visit to Hawaii Island Jan. 2 and 3. He will paint on site for the collectors to see the magic in person.
