Nominations sought for Hawaii Healthcare Heroes awards

The Healthcare Association of Hawaii has launched a new statewide program for Hawaii residents to recognize the healthcare workers who have made their lives better. The program, entitled Hawaii Healthcare Heroes, is accepting nominations now through Sept. 17.

Healthcare Association of Hawaii will collect, share, and archive the real-life stories shared by residents about the healthcare workers who have impacted their lives. The most compelling nominations will earn five healthcare workers the title of Hawaii Healthcare Heroes.

Both clinical healthcare professionals, such as physicians, social workers, and pharmacists and nonclinical professionals, such as admissions intake professionals, drivers or housekeeper are eligible.

The 2014 class of Hawaii Healthcare Heroes will be announced by late October. The five winners will be recognized at the Healthcare Association of Hawaii awards dinner Nov. 8 and given prize packages from generous local businesses.

Nominations can be submitted at hah.org/heroes; by calling 808-533-hero or by completing an entry form available at a number of healthcare providers across the state.
