Police seek Hilo man wanted for questioning in connection with robbery

Hawaii Island police are searching for a Hilo man wanted for questioning in connection with a robbery in Hilo on Monday.

South Hilo patrol officers responded to a home on Pilipaa Street in the Panaewa area after receiving a 2:32 p.m. report that an acquaintance had punched and choked a 32-year-old Hilo woman, stolen her purse and cell phone and left her unconscious. The victim was taken to Hilo Medical Center, where she was treated for her injuries and released, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

Area I Criminal Investigations Section detectives want to question 29-year-old Jeffrey De Castro about the incident. He is described as 5-foot-11, weighing 220 pounds, and having blue eyes and brown hair.
