Island Heart Care now open in Waimea

Island Heart Care has recently expanded and opened a new center to provide Enhanced External Counterpulsation therapy in Waimea.

In 2010, Island Heart Care became the first provider of EECP therapy on the Big Island. Since then, more than 300 heart patients have been treated in the Kona location.

EECP is an established noninvasive treatment for heart disease such as angina and congestive heart failure. It’s a safe and effective treatment option and is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most commercial carriers.

Island Heart Care’s Waimea expansion follows its recent expansion of a Nuclear Cardiology Department in the Kailua-Kona EECP center. Currently the only provider of EECP in the state, Island Heart Care has accepted numerous referrals from outer islands. For more information, call 769-5225 or 769-5083.
