Editor’s note: This log of property crimes reported in the Kona District is a regular feature of West Hawaii Today and is compiled using Hawaii Police Department records. The department considers North and South Kona one district.

Burglaries

Sept. 19, someone reportedly entered a house in the 74-5000 block of Kealapua Street and took a wallet from the kitchen table. The victim also reported her vehicle was entered and miscellaneous items were taken.

Stolen vehicles

Sept. 15, someone reportedly took an orange 2013 Honda CBR250 motorcycle bearing Hawaii license plate 975HNV from the Kona Coffee Villas.

Sept. 18, someone reportedly took a blue Toyota Tundra pickup truck bearing Hawaii license plate PJX225 from the 74-5100 block of Kealapua Street. The truck has a dent near the middle of the rear bumper. The victim’s wife also reported her vehicle was entered and U.S. currency along with Starbucks and McDonald’s gift cards were reportedly taken.

Theft from a vehicle

Sept. 15, someone reportedly entered an unlocked vehicle at Magic Sands Villa on Alii Drive and took two buckets of miscellaneous tools.

Sept. 18, someone reportedly entered an unlocked vehicle in Honaunau, taking a Marlin .22 Magnum rifle from behind the seat. The rifle’s serial number is 91650143. It was kept in a soft black case.

Theft

Sept. 13, someone reportedly stole a red floral print cloth bag at Makahi Street. Inside the bag were U.S. currency, multiple credit cards, a New York State driver’s license and a Samsung Galaxy 5S cellphone.

Sept. 14, someone reportedly took a brown Louis Vuitton bag containing a Macbook Pro laptop from a bench near the Alaska Airlines baggage claim at Kona International Airport. The victim said she didn’t have sight of the bag for approximately 10 minutes.

Sept. 17, someone reportedly stole a Honda 2HP outboard motor from a boat at Kailua Pier.
