None of the University of Hawaii at Hilo’s golfers were able to break 80 on Monday as the Lady Vulcans shot a 44-over 336 and were seventh among 12 teams at the Dixie State Invitational in Blackrock Pointe, Utah.

All five of the Vulcans are underclassmen. Freshman Erin Costes led the way with a 9-over 82 and was tied for 25th place. Sophomore Shannon Abarra (84) was tied for 33rd, while freshman Mariah Paiste and sophomore Alison Tengan were another stroke back and tied for 37th. After leading the Vulcans in their first tournament of the season, freshman Andi Igawa opened with an 87.

Point Loma leads the team race with a 305, while Dixie State’s Brittney Bisgrove (71) held the individual lead by a stroke. The tournament wraps up Tuesday.
