Airlines waive change fees ahead of storm

Island Air said Wednesday it will waive reservation change fees for customers who need to change their travel plans ahead of the arrival of Tropical Storm Ana.

Customers who are ticketed for travel on Island Air between Friday and Sunday will be permitted to change their flight online without charge, or by contacting reservations at 800-652-6541 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. HST. Changes must be made prior to the departure of originally scheduled flights.

Customers holding tickets for travel on Hawaiian Airlines flights from Thursday through Sunday will be permitted one-time reservation change with waiver of change fee provided that the ticket was issued on/before Wednesday.

Change must be made prior to departure time of originally scheduled flight and ticketed on/before Sunday.

In addition, for changes made to new flights that commence on/before Wednesday, any resulting difference in fare will be waived provided that the change is made to same seating class and there is no change in origin and destination.

For travel after Wednesday, change fee will be waived and difference in fare will apply. Normal refund rules will apply. There will be no waiver of any applicable cancellation fees for refundable tickets and no refunds permitted on nonrefundable tickets related to this event.
