Kona Brewing Co. hosts a pre-Halloween bash with the sunny sounds of Los Angeles, Latin American and the Caribbean flowing at a live performance of the seven-piece band Ozomatli at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Brewhouse Oasis.
Ozomatli melds numerous music cultures, including funk, reggae, rap, cumbia, merengue, salsa and hip-hop. Formed in Los Angeles in the mid 1990s, Ozomatli toured with Carlos Santana in 1998. The band won Grammys in 2001 and 2004 and a Latin Grammy in 2005.
Gates open at 6 p.m. Hawaiian slack key guitarist L.T. Smooth opens the show. A free photo booth and Halloween costume contest with a $1,000 cash grand prize are offered.
