HONOLULU — A Honolulu police officer has been suspended after he was seen on video assaulting people at a game room.

Honolulu Police Department spokeswoman Teresa Bell says the officer who has been on the force for nine years is suspended without pay.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Wednesday attorney Myles Breiner is representing a man who says he was kicked by the officer. The officer is seen in the video wearing plain clothes, kicking a man in the face and then throwing a metal stool at the man’s head. The officer shoves a woman before leaving the room with two other officers in plain clothes.

Police Chief Louis Kealoha says in a statement that the department doesn’t condone such conduct.

Breiner says he doesn’t know when the video was recorded.
