Hallelujah Harvest scheduled Friday
Kona Baptist Church will hold its third annual Hallelujah Harvest Festival from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 31.
The safe alternative to Halloween will include inflatable party bouncers, entertainment and a free hot dog dinner. Keiki ages 2 through 5 will have a separate play area and fire trucks will be on display.

Seaview Circle has haunted house
A free haunted house is scheduled on Halloween night at the bottom of Seaview Circle. The haunt will run from dark to around 9 p.m. A donation of a nonperishible food items for the Hawaii Island Food Basket will be accepted. In the last two years this event has collected more than 150 pounds of food.

Reserve council meeting in Honolulu
The Reserve Advisory Council for NOAA’s Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Coral Reef Ecosystem Reserve, which is now part of Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument, will meet from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Friday in Honolulu at the NOAA/Inouye Regional Center located at 1845 Wasp Blvd., Building 176, in the Koolau Haka Conference Room No. 1564. The council will discuss and receive updates on monument activities and hear briefings on related efforts, including agency updates. The meeting is open to the public. A shuttle will be available between 8:15 to 8:45 a.m. at the USS Arizona Memorial commercial vehicle passenger drop off area located at 1 Arizona Memorial Place, Honolulu. Meeting attendees must bring a valid picture ID for clearance onto Ford Island. Parking is free of charge at the USS Arizona Memorial and nearby Rainbow Marina.
The Reserve Advisory Council is comprised of 25 members representing broad stakeholder constituencies, including Native Hawaiian, research, conservation, commercial and recreational fishing, ocean-related tourism, education, and state and federal agencies and is an advisory body to NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries. Established in 2000, it provides advice and recommendations on managing and protecting the reserve. Serving in a volunteer capacity, the council members represent a variety of local user groups, as well as the general public.
Regency at Hualalai plans Halloween fun
The first “Halloween-Two Floors of Fright!” occurs from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at the Regency at Hualalai, 75-181 Hualalai Road, Kailua-Kona. A magic show, haunted floor, activity stations and more are planned.

Kings’ Shops hosts Halloween event
The public is invited to visit participating merchants throughout Kings’ Shops for safe trick-or-treating beginning at 5 p.m. Friday at center court stage. Free treat bags will be given to the first 100 children and free popcorn and cotton candy for all while supplies last, compliments of the merchants.
At 6 p.m., The Great Barusky will perform “Tricks N’ Treats,” a Halloween-themed magic show followed by a children’s costume contest.
