Editor’s note: This log of property crimes reported in the Kona District is a regular feature of West Hawaii Today and is compiled using Hawaii Police Department records. The department considers North and South Kona one district.

Burglaries

On Oct. 19, a burglary was reported in the 5200 block of Queen Kaahumanu Highway, where items were damaged, but nothing was removed.

On Oct. 20, a burglary was reported in the 5500 block of Kaiwi Street, where currency and car titles were taken.

On Oct. 23, a burglary was reported in the 2200 block of Kaloko Drive, where a firearm, bow and generator were taken.

Stolen vehicles

On Oct. 19, someone allegedly stole a light blue 1997 Toyota Tacoma pickup, bearing the Hawaii license plate HMX872, from the 5500 block of Palani Road.

On Oct. 21, someone allegedly stole a white 1995 Ford EC3 van, bearing the Hawaii license plate 345HCS, from the 1000 block of East Honalo Road. The vehicle has been located and a suspect arrested.

On Oct. 23, someone allegedly stole a gray 2005 Toyota Tundra pickup, bearing the Hawaii license plate HFZ844, from the 2200 block of Kaloko Drive.

Theft from vehicles

On Oct. 22, someone reportedly took a cellphone from a vehicle on Halekii Street.
