Debra Carroll-Brimm

Debra Kay Carroll-Brimm, 60, of Keaau died Nov. 10, 2014, at home. Born Oct. 4, 1954, in Tennessee, she was a retired ultrasound technologist for Women’s Imaging Center in Hilo.

She is survived by husband, John Brimm of Keaau; daughter, Robin Epperson of Kurtistown; brother, Larry (Debbie) Forsythe of Tennessee; one granddaughter.

Roy Rebuldela

Roy “Totay” Rebuldela, 67, of Hilo died at Hilo Medical Center Nov. 7, 2014. Born in Pepeekeo, he was a driver for the former Hilo Coast Processing and Mauna Loa Mac Nuts, security guard at Hilo Medical Center, veteran of the U.S. Army and member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 21 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Papaikou for an 11 a.m. service. Friends may also call at noon Nov. 24 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2 Columbaria for interment. The family requests casual attire be worn and flowers be omitted.

He is survived by wife, Diane Rebuldela; son, Royden (Angie) Rebuldela; daughter, Tricia (Sean) Phelan, all of Hilo; brothers, Jaime Rebuldela of Pearl City, Oahu, Juan Rebuldela of Hilo, Peter (Merle) Rebuldela of Pepeekeo and Alfred Rebuldela of Honaunau; sisters, Leonora Dacayanan of Pepeekeo, Leonila Stone of Papaikou and Norma (Anthony) Acain of Kailua, Oahu; three grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

June Hiyoto

June Junko Hiyoto, 77, of Hilo, died Nov. 14, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Mountain View, she was a retired school health aide at E.B. de Silva Elementary School and member of the Hilo Meishoin Mission.

Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 22 at the Hilo Meishoin Mission. A funeral service will be held at 10:30. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Eric (Susan) Hiyoto of Mililani, Oahu, Randall Hiyoto of Honolulu; daughters, Natalie (Eric) Koyanagi of Mililani, Oahu, Donna (David) Rutherford of McKinleyville, Calif., Tammy (Curtis) Tanaka of Hilo; brother, Ronald (Elaine) Ishimaru; sisters, Ethel Suzuki, Amy (Edward) Watase all of Pearl City, Oahu; five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Thomas Stearns

Thomas “Tommy” Brown Hinano Stearns, 57, of Volcano, died Oct. 12, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, March 18, 1957, he was a financial advisor.

Tadao Matsuzaki

Tadao Matsuzaki, 89, of Papaikou died Oct. 27, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Papaikou, Hawaii Nov. 20, 1924, he was a retired mechanic from the former Mauna Kea Sugar Co., member of Papaikou Hongwanji Kyodan, Papaikou Pension Club and Aloha Council – Boy Scouts of America.

Friends may call at 3 p.m. Nov. 23 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 4 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and flowers be omitted.

He is survived by wife, Misae Matsuzaki of Papaikou; son, Ken (Diane) Matsuzaki of Reno, Nev.; daughters, Myra (Wayne) Fujino of Mililani, Oahu, Mona (Carl) Nii of Aiea, Oahu; brothers, Tatsuo (Harue) Matsuzaki of Hilo, Yoshio Matsuzaki of Papaikou and Mamoru Matsuzaki of Reno, Nev.; sister, Sueko (Tsutomu) Omori of Papaikou; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Eunice Hulama

Eunice Haleola Hulama, age 81, of Hilo died Nov. 9, 2014, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Hilo on Oct. 12, 1933, she was a teacher’s aide at Head Start and Chiefess Kapiolani Elementary School.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Nov. 24 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for an 11 a.m. service. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by son, Myles (Kelly) Hulama of Kawaihae; daughter, Myra (Eric) Hironaga of Keaau; sister, Rachel Kuulipule of Hilo; four grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Tooru Yugawa

Tooru “Belly” Yugawa, 91, of Hilo died Nov. 7, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 20, 1923, in Hakalau, he retired from Hilo Coast Processing Company and was a U.S. Army World War II veteran.

Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 29 at Hilo Coast United Church of Christ in Honomu for a 10:30 a.m. service. A committal service follows at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. In lieu of monetary gifts or flowers, donations may be made to Hilo Coast United Church of Christ or any other charitable organization.

He is survived by wife, Helen Yugawa of Hilo; daughters, Shelly (James) O’Heron of Honolulu, Linell (George Ellmore) Yugawa of Boston, Arlean (William) Rohde of Brussels, Belgium; sister, Helene Ochi of Honolulu; brother, Megumi Yugawa of Hilo; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Sadami Hamamoto

Sadami Yada Hamamoto, 90, of Hilo died Oct. 31, 2014, at her home. Born in Kaiaakea, she was a retired secretary for the University of Hawaii at Hilo, member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Buddhist Women’s Association., Home Gardener’s Club, Waiakea Recreation Center Adult Fitness Group and East Hawaii Hiroshima Kenjinkai.

Private services were held. Family requests monetary donations be omitted.

She is survived by sons, Jerry (Jane) Hamamoto, Robert Hamamoto; daughters, Ann Sayoko (Patrick Kazuo) Lau and Joan (Gregg) Mayo, all of Hilo; six grandchildren.

Marajane Heinold

Marajane Heinold, 88, of Honokaa died Oct. 30, 2014, at Hale Hoola Hamakua. Born Nov. 25, 1925, in Stilesville, Ind., she was a bank teller and homemaker.

Private services will be held.

She is survived by daughter, Jana Troute of Kailua-Kona; brother, Thomas (Cathy) Eader of Indiana, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
